About Us

The Group currently has 7 mixed sections which are broken down as follows: Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers and Rovers. More can be found out about each of these sections here.

There is a core leadership of about 30 to 40 Adults with other people helping out where needed. Leaders are always in short supply so we are constantly on the look out for new people. If you are interested in joining as an adult volunteer (what we call a Scouter) more information can be found here.

History

The Group was founded in 1927 and was one of the original founder Units of the Catholic Boy Scouts of Ireland. In the 1980’s Donnybrook Scouts opened its doors to women and all sections became mixed. In 2004 the association formerly known as CBSI joined with the Scout Association of Ireland (SAI) to form a new association known as Scouting Ireland.

If you are particularly interested in the history of Donnybrook Scouts, you can find more information here.
